folk CHRONICLES is a series of video vignettes and corresponding storyboards by artist fawn krieger. Consisting of 2-3 minute video segments each profiling a historical figure, these video-portraits span the length of a TV commercial break, and appear during prime TV airtime; interrupting and re-programming established notions of truth and fiction. Actors are videotaped in constructed sets that symbolically mirror their relationship to a physical world. Spliced over and in-between landscapes and architectures, these characters unearth ecstatic journeys of liberation and transformation as they inspire movement towards revolutionary living.
